A flagship developer event blending thought leadership with immersive brand experience
Twilio RED is Twilio’s annual flagship event, bringing together developers, product leaders and visionaries to explore the future of customer engagement, innovation and communications. In May 2022, Twilio partnered with CAPITAL-e to deliver the Sydney edition at Merivale’s ivy, welcoming 350+ attendees for a high-energy day of content, connection and brand immersion.
The event needed to deliver a premium conference experience while also showcasing Twilio’s latest technology developments in a way that felt playful, memorable and unmistakably Twilio.
Designing an Experience that Brought the Brand to Life
CAPITAL-e supported the delivery of a full-scale event program featuring high-profile speakers including founder and entrepreneur Janine Allis and David Thodey, Chair of Tyro Payments and Xero, alongside industry voices from ANZ Bank, Origin Energy and NRMA. The agenda included keynote sessions and customer panels designed to spark conversation and share real-world insight.
A standout element of Twilio RED was the immersive activation space, nicknamed Child’s Play. ivy was transformed into an oversized toy store experience — inspired by the film Big — creating a fun and unexpected environment that encouraged exploration and interaction.
Five custom activations were designed and produced to integrate Twilio’s latest technology, giving guests a hands-on way to experience the brand’s innovation beyond the stage.

Twilio RED 2022 generated outstanding attendee response, with social channels flooded with praise from staff, customers and partners. The event successfully delivered an inspiring and energetic atmosphere that reflected Twilio’s leadership in customer engagement technology.
CAPITAL-e delivered end-to-end event management including venue liaison, catering, creative and theming, registration, audio-visual production, signage and entertainment — ensuring a seamless and high-impact flagship event experience.
