WHAT IS THE FEEL ECONOMY AND WHY DOES IT MATTER?

As technology becomes more capable, faster and more embedded in the way we work, it’s easy for the conversation to focus only on what we can automate or make more efficient.

But CAPITAL-e CEO, Andrew Everingham believes there’s another side to that shift that deserves just as much attention: the things technology can’t easily replicate.

In a recent conversation with Lara Nercessian on the CEO Behind the Scenes podcast, Andrew explores what he calls the “Feel Economy”: the idea that as our world becomes increasingly digital, human connection, emotion and shared experiences become more valuable, not less. When information is everywhere and AI makes it easier than ever to research, compare products and services, and to make decisions without speaking to another person, creating genuine emotional connection becomes an increasingly powerful way for brands to stand apart.

It’s a subject that sits close to how we think about our work at CAPITAL-e. Bringing people together isn’t simply about filling a room. Whether it’s customers, partners or your own people, when you ask someone to give you their time, the experience has to be worth showing up for. People should leave having felt something. That might be feeling inspired, learning something new, making a meaningful connection or engaging with a brand in a way they’ll remember. As Andrew puts it in the conversation, the opportunity is to create experiences people walk away from thinking, “That was great. I can’t wait for the next one.”

For B2B brands in particular, those moments matter. The buying decisions rarely sit with one person, and creating an emotional connection with the people around tthose decisions can help build preference, influence buying groups and ultimately shorten the sales cycle.

Throughout the conversation, Andrew and Lara explore what this shift means in practice, from the role of AI and the power of gathering, to how we spend our time, lead through change and create experiences that genuinely leave people better than we found them.

At the heart of it is something Andrew has believed for a long time: human connection matters. And as more of our world becomes digital, creating meaningful opportunities for people to come together matters even more.
